Model 50 Production Turbine
The QUANTUM Model 50 Freedom Series turbine will take advantage of all the advances made in the popular Megawatt (MW) class turbines. Its design uses the same volume manufacture of composites, drive trains, converters and electronics. Importantly, in order to maximize profitability and returns on invested capital, the smaller 50' diameter turbine has a simpler system design that ensures minimal ongoing maintenance costs. The Model 50 Turbine will produce 50 kW in a 22 mph (10 m/s) wind. As a result of 24 years of acquired technical knowledge and the most current research and development, QUANTUM will continuously make whatever changes are necessary to retain top notch product quality.
This product will resemble the turbine pictured above. Our turbines
will incorporate our innovative “direct drive Permanent Magnet
Generator” design. Due to its “gearless” nature, our turbines are
designed to have a 30-year life span with only minor maintenance.
Reliability is also increased thanks to the use of electronics instead
of mechanics to condition the power for AC supply requirements and/or
to synchronize with the utility grid.
